Minolta Auto 118X7-29-24: Designed for the Minolta X series (XD and XG and later). Small, short range. Bought with a Canon Speedlite 200E, an Albinar 28mm MD-mount lens. 8-6-24: Arrived in original box with carry bag. Uses 2 AA batts, had some corrosion on the battery hatch, cleaned. Tested OK. Box has a price tag from David Weis, a catalog showroom in Monroeville PA. They operated from (at least) the 1980's to the early 1990's when they folded. Was curious about how much this cost new, so I looked for the catalog number (6638-050-2) and found it selling for $39.97 at Witmark, another catalog showroom in West Michigan. The ad appeared in the September 1993 Lansing State Journal. Witmark operated from 1969 to 1997. I wonder if they used the same stock number, or bought all the excess stock from David Weis when they folded earlier. I paid $8.50.Click on any image to enlarge full screen in a new tab.
